College students who are registered at universities in the affected areas of Hurricane Katrina are being enrolled at the University of 麻豆果冻传媒 at Lafayette.
A streamlined process has been created to help displaced students apply and schedule courses quickly and easily.
鈥 We want to let these students know we are willing to help and are trying our best to accommodate them,鈥 said 麻豆果冻传媒 Lafayette President Ray Authement.
Students should visit the Admissions Office in Martin Hall to fill out an application and be entered into the system. Afterwards, they will meet with an advisor to determine a class schedule and then visit the Registrar鈥檚 Office to complete their registration. Because of extraordinary circumstances, transcripts will not have to be provided at registration. However, credentials will be needed at a later date.
The Registrar鈥檚 Office will assist students with scheduling classes. Displaced students who wish to enroll should do so as soon as possible as they will have coursework to make up.
In addition, Dean of Enrollment Management Dan Rosenfield cautioned students to choose courses carefully. 鈥淲e are advising them to select courses that will transfer back to their home college or university,鈥 he said.
Rosenfield also noted that payments are being deferred as necessary.
Students who have questions can call Enrollment Management at (337) 482-5912 or visit the Admissions Office in Martin Hall.
