Scholarship Deadline Quickly Approaching

The Jan. 23, 2004, deadline for incoming, first-time freshmen to apply for scholarships at the University of Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ at Lafayette is fast approaching.

Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Lafayette offers incoming freshmen a host of scholarships that include the Jefferson Caffery Scholarship, the Academic Scholarship, the Centennial Scholarship, the Academic Excellence Scholarship, the Distinguished Freshman Scholarship, the Distinguished Freshman Housing Scholarship and the Centennial Valedictorian Scholarship.

To apply for a Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Lafayette freshman scholarship, candidates must apply for admissions and meet the following criteria:

If the candidate has an ACT composite score of 22 or SAT score between 1020-1050 :

• have a 3.2 minimum high school cumulative gpa

• English ACT of at least 17 or verbal SAT of at least 430

• Math ACT of least 18 or Math SAT of at least 440.

If the candidate has an ACT composite score of 23 or greater or SAT composite 1060 or greater:

• have a 3.0 minimum high school cumulative gpa

• English ACT of at least 17 or Verbal SAT of at least 430

• Math ACT of least 18 or Math SAT of at least 440.

A copy of the student’s high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores should be included with the application. Applications may be obtained from high school guidance counselors, a Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Lafayette Admissions Counselor or the Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Lafayette Scholarship Office.
