Do you want your children busy this summer? Then you’ll want to take advantage of the Academic Enrichment Program (AEP) offered by the University of Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ at Lafayette's Center for Gifted Education. Registration recently started but many classes are still open.
The Academic Enrichment Program serves students currently in kindergarten through grade 8. There will be two afternoon sessions (June 11-21 and July 9-19) offered this summer, and students may choose from a variety of academic and arts courses.
Qualified students schedule classes designed for high-ability students at their respective grade levels. To qualify for the Academic Enrichment Program, a student must present satisfactory scores on a standardized test of mental ability or academic achievement or be recommended by his/her classroom teacher. Students who are classified as academically gifted by state standards automatically qualify.
Detailed information about AEP can be found at . For further information, call the Center for Gifted Education at 337-482-6701.
