Local architect Steve Oubre will discuss shifts in urban planning during a lecture at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 17 in Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Lafayette’s Fletcher Hall, room 134.
This is the first in a series of lectures sponsored by Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Lafayette’s School of Architecture and Design.
Oubre, with Architects Southwest in Lafayette and a Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Lafayette graduate, will explain how changes in the architecture styles have increased demands on architects and the importance of continuing education to meet the ever-changing needs of their clients.
Examples of Architects Southwest’s work on campus include renovations to Edith Garland Dupré Library, additions at the Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Lafayette Alumni Center and expansion of F.G. Mouton Hall, which houses the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration.
