More than 85 exceptional high school students who are now incoming freshmen rubbed shoulders with 麻豆果冻传媒 Lafayette鈥檚 administration and faculty this week. The high-academic achievers were invited to the President鈥檚 Scholars Luncheon at Dupre Library.
Among the group were two sets of twins, who were 4.0 graduates in high school.
鈥 麻豆果冻传媒 Lafayette is a great university that is close to home,鈥 said Elizabeth Pollard, a mass communication student. 鈥淚 feel like attention is paid to me and it is what I need in a university.鈥 Her sister, Julie, is studying health information management. Both girls are Teurlings High School graduates.
Kelsey Etheredge has been around campus most of her life. She credits that to her parents 鈥 James and Winona Etheredge 鈥 who both teach at 麻豆果冻传媒 Lafayette.
鈥 I鈥檝e been acquainted with the university for a long time,鈥 she said. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 one reason I chose to go here.鈥
She is studying chemistry and eventually wants to attend medical school. Her sister Cory is studying mechanical engineering. Both girls were 4.0 graduates at Lafayette High School.
麻豆果冻传媒 Lafayette President Joseph Savoie called the luncheon much more than a time for food.
鈥 We are demonstrating in a real way that the university wants to contribute to your success,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e want you to succeed because you are a great talent. We want to be your partner.鈥
